Welcome to The Weekly Option, a weekly program that offers practical trades and discussion for beginners and professionals alike.
The Dow Jones Industrial average fell 309 points this week, finishing at 24,271 points. The S&P 500 Index was also lower this week, falling 36 and a half points to close the week valued at 2718.37.
This is a slow earnings week. Of the 24 companies listed as having earnings this week, none of them were companies I even remotely watch.
In this episode we discuss the results from last week’s trades. First we look at the covered call on Marathon Oil Company (MRO). Next we review the results of the credit spread on the QQQ ETF (QQQ). Finally we discuss the results of the debit spread we purchased on American Airlines (AAL).
We then discuss the trades for this week: a covered call on Twitter (TWTR), a credit spread on the S&P 500 ETF (SPY), and a debit spread on General Electric (GE).
